THE “TRUE” GOSPEL OF CHRIST OR THE “ACCURSED

” IN ALL OF THOSE BIBLE MESSAGES?

“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. “ Paul to the “saved Christian leaders’ in Galatians 1:8

SECTION 1

I. EVERY KJV PASSAGE ABOUT “AN ACCURSED GOSPEL”

The Bible only explicitly uses the word “accursed” twice in relation to false gospels—both in Galatians 1, Paul’s most fiery defense of pure apostolic doctrine.

1. Galatians 1:6–9 — the core “accursed gospel” warning

Galatians 1:6–9 (KJV)
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

This is the only place in Scripture where the Spirit uses the term “accursed” specifically toward a distorted gospel.

II. PASSAGES THAT TEACH THE SAME PRINCIPLE

(EVEN IF THE WORD “ACCURSED” ISN’T USED)

These verses reveal the same spiritual danger:
– another Jesus “Jesus is not THE ONLY WAY ( Christ as Savior is just ONE of MANY ways to get to heaven/all beliefs get YOU IN)

– another spirit
– another doctrine
– false prophets
– perverted authority
– false apostles
– private revelations
– commandments of men

These were the exact mechanisms that create “accursed gospels.”

2. 2 Corinthians 11:3–4 — “another Jesus … another spirit … another gospel”

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

This is Paul’s direct parallel to Galatians 1.

3. 2 Corinthians 11:12–15 — false apostles disguised as light

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness…

Paul shows the source of accursed gospels:
false apostles → false doctrines → false authority → false gospels.

4. 1 Timothy 1:3–7 — “teach no other doctrine”

…that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies…
7 Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

This is Paul’s First-Church corrective to novice self-appointed teachers—a modern plague

5. 1 Timothy 4:1–2 — “doctrines of devils”

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith…
Giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy…

This is what happens when “another gospel” becomes normal.

6. 2 Peter 2:1–3 — false teachers bringing in “damnable heresies”

But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies…
3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you…

This is the commercialized, celebrity-style ministry of today

7. Jude 3–4 — turning grace into license

…that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares… turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness…

Jude exposes permissive gospels—“grace without repentance.”

8. Matthew 24:4–5, 11, 24 — false Christs, false prophets

Jesus warned about mass deception, not just individuals.

9. Colossians 2:8 — beware philosophy & tradition

Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men…

Modern day:
– pop psychology gospels
– trauma-projection prophecy
– motivational self-help replacing the cross

10. Revelation 2–3 — Christ judging churches for false doctrine

Ephesus — discernment without love
Pergamos — false prophets in the camp
Thyatira — Jezebel-style prophetic seduction
Laodicea — lukewarm self-importance

Christ Himself confronts accursed doctrines INSIDE the church.

II. FIRST CHURCH vs MODERN DAY: A FULL SCRIPTURE-TRAINING ANALYSIS

A. WHAT PAUL MEANT BY “AN ACCURSED GOSPEL”

1. It is any message that:

replaces grace with works
replaces repentance with license

replaces the Spirit with human psychics
replaces Scripture with “inner impressions”
replaces servant leadership with hierarchy fear
replaces the cross with self-promotion

MODERN “ACCURSED GOSPEL” TYPES

1. The Celebrity Gospel
Ministry gifts/talents/success elevated above Christ.

2. The Legalistic Perfection Gospel
Rules of men replacing Scripture.

3. The Hyper-grace Gospel
No repentance, no take up the cross, no respect, no personal accountability.

4. The Apostolic Domination Gospel
Covering, control, domination, fear-based loyalty.(fierce well intentioned targeting gate keeping)

5. **The Prophetic Surveillance Gospel **(TD’S BIG PET PEEVE)
“Inner readings,” psychic-style discernment,
spectral accusations,
witch-listing,
peering,
divining into people.

This is a direct violation of Galatians 1 AND 2 Corinthians 11.

6. The Money-Manipulation Gospel
Merchandising believers
(2 Pet 2:3).

7. The Trauma-Projection Gospel
Pop psychology dressed as prophecy.

ALL OF THESE meet Paul’s criteria for “another gospel.”

D. HOW TO TRAIN MODERN BELIEVERS (PRACTICAL APPLICATION)

1. TEST ALL MINISTRY BY THESE QUESTIONS

Does it exalt Christ—or the leader?
Does it require fear-based loyalty?
Does it teach Scripture—or impressions?
Does it produce love—or suspicion?
Does it bring freedom—or control?
Does it point to Jesus—or to the group?

If it fails any of these, Paul says:

“let him be accursed” (Gal 1:8–9).

2. TEACH THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN:

True Prophetic Flow vs. Divining / Peering
— True prophecy = edifying, comforting, convicting truth.
— False = spying, peering, suspicion, dramatics, accusations.

Apostolic Servanthood vs. Apostolic Domination
— True apostle = foundation in Christ.
— False = foundation in themselves.

Discerning of Spirits vs. Spectral Accusations
— True = sees root issues with compassion.
— False = assumes guilt, labels as “witch,” “Jezebel,” etc.

Unity of the Spirit vs. Unity of the Organization
— One is relational (Eph 4).
— The other is authoritarian.

Paul also preached:

Repentance toward God (Acts 20:21)
Walking in the Spirit (Romans 8)
Holiness (Romans 6)
Continuing in the faith (Col. 1:23)

Paul’s gospel matches Jesus perfectly.

3. HEBREWS — THE WARNING BOOK

Not soft, not symbolic — literal warnings:

neglecting salvation (Heb. 2:3)
departing from God (Heb. 3:12)
falling away (Heb. 6:4–6)
willful sin after truth (Heb. 10:26–27)
drawing back to perdition (Heb. 10:38–39)

Hebrews protects the True Gospel from error.

4. FIRST CHURCH GOSPEL (ACTS)

“Repent… be baptized… receive the Holy Ghost.” — Acts 2:38
