THE APOSTOLIC SUBCULTURE CRISIS “WINNOWING AND SIFTING WHAT IS NOW”

Series Part 1

The Apostolic Subculture Crisis:
Winnowing and Sifting What is “Now”

“And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” John the Baptist Luke 1:17

When the Church Reflects the World
Scripture Foundation:

The following are massive subcultures I began encountering, as the 1970’s original moves of faith worship and media turned Christ following into “Fan Club” Devout Followers. (late 1980’s onward, when out among the charismatics)

THESE SUBCULTURES: 1 Timothy 6:5, 2 Timothy 2:24-26, and 2 Timothy 3:1-8 (KJV) — In Full

ONE: 1 Timothy 6:5

“Perverse disputing of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.”

TWO: 2 Timothy 2:24-26

“And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”

THREE: 2 Timothy 3:1-8

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
(for “The MEN”) For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and (For the WOMEN”) lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.”

Series Introduction:

Discerning the Two Apostolic Subcultures in Today’s Church

In this series, we will explore a critical but often overlooked reality within the modern Church— the existence of two very different apostolic subcultures. One reflects the genuine, Spirit-led, servant-hearted model of the First Church, while the other mirrors worldly patterns of pride, control, and false godliness.

We will examine biblical warnings from Paul’s epistles, identify how these dynamics show up in ministry leaders, staff, elders, and even congregants, and challenge the Church to return to true apostolic roots—marked by humility, gentleness, and the power of God.

This is not merely a critique of secular culture; it is a call to sober self-examination and renewal within the Body of Christ. Join us as we uncover the signs, warnings, and hope for the rising Church that God is preparing.

Understanding the Subculture Inside the Church

It’s tempting to view the turmoil, selfishness, and confusion Paul describes as a symptom of “the world out there.” Yet, these dangers are not confined to secular society alone—they have firmly planted themselves within the Church. This troubling subculture exists among ministers, elders, pastors, staff, and even within the congregation’s lay members.

At its core, this subculture is marked by:

Corrupt disputing and divisive arguments that serve selfish agendas instead of edifying the Body.

False notions of godliness, where external appearance or titles mask a denial of true spiritual power.

Pride, arrogance, and love of self that erode humility and servant-hearted leadership.

Spiritual manipulation and control tactics that break the unity of the Spirit and cause hurt instead of healing.

Such behaviors do not reflect the gentleness, patience, and meekness Paul commands for the Lord’s servants. Instead, they echo the perilous times warned about—where love grows cold and self-interest reigns.

This is why Paul instructs believers to withdraw from corrupt disputes and to be patient and gentle when teaching those who oppose themselves, praying God grants them repentance and restoration.

The Call Back to Biblical Ministry

The Church was never meant to mirror the world’s pride or politics. It was designed as a sanctuary of truth, love, and spiritual growth. Ministry leaders are called to serve, not to dominate. They must teach with patience, correct in meekness, and seek the restoration of the lost—not to control or accuse without love.

Recognizing and confronting this internal subculture is essential for the Church’s health and witness. It challenges all of us to:

Examine the fruit in each of “ourselves”  and in our “leaders.” and in the rising bumper crop of “devout true followers!”

Reject the counterfeit forms of godliness that deny power.

Pursue a culture of humility, truth, and servant leadership.

The battle is not just “out there” — it is right here, among us. But with God’s help, repentance and renewal are possible.
Closing Thought

Paul’s words remain urgently relevant:

“The servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient…” (2 Timothy 2:24)

May we embrace this model fully and seek to build a Church that reflects Christ — genuine, humble, and filled with the power of God.

Discerning the Two Apostolic Subcultures in Today’s Church

In this series, we will explore a critical but often overlooked reality within the modern Church— the existence of two very different apostolic subcultures. We will examine biblical warnings from Paul’s epistles, identify how these dynamics show up in ministry leaders, staff, elders, and even congregants, and challenge the Church to return to true apostolic roots—marked by humility, gentleness, and the power of God.

About Pastor Taveau D’Arcy

Pastor Taveau D’Arcy was commissioned by the Lord at age 24, in 1976, to study the leadership doctrines within the Body of Christ. This calling came well before the rise of modern media and the commercialization of Christian ministry. Over decades, she has observed and studied leaders—male and female, from all races, with various expressions including speaking in tongues—and more recently, the impact of media and fine arts on ministry.

Now, Pastor Taveau is stepping forward to address what the Lord has called her to do: build bridges of understanding between His people, fostering unity, clarity, and biblical truth across the diverse Church.
This gives her a distinct Luke Eyewitness and classic non biased perspective. And a Before Christian Media During it’s over the top development and now.

About Pastor Taveau D’Arcy: A Life Led by the Lord

Pastor Taveau D’Arcy’s life and calling reflect a long, faithful walk with the Lord—spanning generations, denominations, and decades of ministry insight. Raised by senior parents and godly grandparents from both sides—each deeply rooted in the Bible and led by the Holy Spirit—Taveau was shaped early on by Christian examples from Baptist, Presbyterian, and Methodist traditions. Though not Pentecostal, they lived true Christian lives under the quiet guidance of the Spirit. In all her growing up years, and despite racism in the deep south, during the warring civil rights nightly,TD can recall no accusation against any race, people, any faith, any style, status, income or education ,against tongues or not…..in her entire middle income, peaceful, blessed ministry, This include NO GOSSIP or ACCUSING mean behavior.

  • At just nine years old, Taveau gave her heart to Jesus during her father’s summer revival. At twelve, while listening to Billy Graham preach on her grandmother’s TV from the other room, she rededicated her life. By sixteen, she was a passionate, on-fire follower of Christ—living simply like a “Jesus People” teen, dressing down and pressing into authentic faith.
  • While a freshman in college, she made a decision that changed her life: to experiment with what would happen if she followed the Lord’s leading 24/7, 365 days a year. She has continued that experiment ever since. During this season, while living off campus, she also received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, igniting a deeper level of insight and direction from the Lord.

1987 Called to Public Ministry: The Encouraging Word

In Central Virginia, Pastor Taveau was led to birth The Encouraging Word Ministries. During that time, she:

  • Hosted her own area-wide prayer meetings, specifically to intercede for pastors, leaders, their families, and revival.

  • Spoke prophetically and wrote monthly words from the Lord, often directed toward top Christian leaders.

  • Was active in real radio and local cable TV media, teaching the Bible and encouraging the Church.

  • Ministered broadly, Guest Spoke with a focus on strengthening and edifying the public, especially leaders and staff in ministry.

However, due to personal hardship and domestic violence, Pastor Taveau was led to step back from this public-facing season of her ministry. She did not stop serving the Lord—only paused the visible platform for healing, reflection, and private obedience. That chapter deeply shaped her compassion and discernment, especially toward overlooked or struggling people in the Church.

Commissioned by the Lord in 1976

At age 24, in 1976, the Lord gave Pastor Taveau a clear commission: to study the leadership doctrines within the Body of Christ. This assignment came long before the rise of modern Christian celebrity culture, mega-conferences, or media commercialization. She has since studied the Church across genders, races, worship styles, and denominations—including both charismatic and traditional streams.

In recent years, she’s also examined the growing influence of media, fine arts, branding, and entertainment in Christian culture—discerning how these elements shape the perception of Jesus, leadership, and spiritual authority in today’s generation.

Her Current Mandate: Building Bridges

Today, Pastor Taveau is stepping forward to fulfill the full measure of her God-given assignment:

“To build bridges of understanding between God’s people.”

She believes this is a critical hour (even dire) for the Church—not just to preach, but to listen, discern, and reconnect across generational, racial, denominational, and doctrinal lines.

Her voice is one of encouragement, truth, and clarity—rooted in years of firsthand experience, deep biblical insight, and quiet obedience. Pastor Taveau D’Arcy isn’t just commenting on the Church—she’s lived through its highs and lows, walked among its leaders and laypeople, and now offers her life’s journey as a gift to the rising Church.

“Hear ye, O spirit filled “the days of Elijah are right now, but they do not appear like you thought. See Luke 1:17 as it’s about “the relationship respect” and the “unity” not the ” out come” and the “income”

“And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” Luke 1:17 KJV

A Word the Lord Gave Me About Repeated Hurt and Spiritual Warning

50 years in 2026!

In the course of my journey—attending ministries, traveling conferences, studying leadership across many styles and movements—I began to experience certain painful dynamics over and over again. Things like public accusation, tale-bearing, suspicion without cause, and strange “spiritual turf-guarding.”

After encountering this not once, but multiple times across different regions and ministries, I brought my heart before the Lord.

It was then that He impressed this deeply personal, prophetic instruction into my spirit:

“If I allow you to stumble upone  something in a Christian fellowship or ministry three times or more, in different places—something that hurts people or tarnishes My name—then that is a sign to you. I see a lot more of that than you know, and I am allowing you to see it so you will teach on it.”

And He added:

“If you get hurt, take it prophetically, not personally. I am letting you feel the weight of it so you can understand how deeply it wounds My people—and then you will help them slowly heal from it.”

That changed everything.

It shifted me from being merely “offended” or “wounded” to understanding that the Lord was entrusting me with insight—not just into problems, but into redemptive solutions. And it confirmed my lifelong calling: to build bridges of understanding among His people.
