What “Being Ready” Actually Means (Bible Basics, No Guesswork)

1. Admit that you need a Savior.
Romans 3:23 says, “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
No one is good enough to earn heaven—not priests, pastors, prophets, or any of us.
We all must personally face the truth that sin separates us from God.

2. Believe that Jesus Christ is Lord.
John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins and rose again so that we could live forever with Him.

3. Confess and receive Him personally.
Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.”
This isn’t about joining a church—it’s about surrendering your life to Christ Himself.

4. Repent and start walking His way.
Acts 3:19 calls us to “Repent and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.”
Repentance means turning away from sin and letting God change your heart and habits.

5. Grow daily by reading the Bible and talking to God.
2 Timothy 3:16 says, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”
If we never open the Bible, we miss the instructions that prepare us for life now—and forever.

6. Love others as Jesus loved you.
John 13:35 says, “By this shall all men know that ye are My disciples, if ye have love one to another.”
Love proves the heart has truly been changed.

Bottom Line

No denomination can save a soul—only Jesus Christ can.
Every person, no matter where they worship or what background they have, must come to Him directly.

When you stand before God, He will not ask what church you attended, but whether you accepted His Son and lived according to His Word.

That’s what being ready for eternity really means.
