Apostolic Realism: How the Personal Doctrine and Private Life of a Minister Shapes the Spirit of a Church

Psalm 132:9 (KJV) –

“Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.”

Psalm 132:16 (KJV) –

“I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.”

Isaiah 28:9 (KJV) –

“Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.”

MAKING MENTION: American Churches members big murmur, find fault, even leave the church*** …in significant numbers…and so do the pastors, prophets, ministers and elders,junior leaders ..who often quit too soon, and then go online, grousing and accusing, big name calling ..and even form  rising movements…so let’s examine US in this light of “doctrinal matters” (silent core beliefs)

*** I speak on behalf of THIS CROWD..the remnant who have witnessed far to much and understand Apostle Paul’s warning about Perilous Last Days” and the “need to flee from” certain “fruits” which is this  2 Timothy 3:1-8, 1 TImothy 6:5 (So I believe there is a main difference and God Granted Philippians 2:12 Choice!)

Prophetic King David’s BEWARE OF Psalm 144:7–11 (KJV)

7 “Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;”
8 “Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.”
(…repeated in verse 11)
11 “Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood.”

PASTOR’S  INTRODUCTION

The atmosphere of any spiritual body—whether a megachurch, small fellowship, house gathering, or denominational outpost—is not merely shaped by music, programs, or structure.

It is formed by the spirit and private doctrine of its leadership.

The tone, emotional health, and moral conviction of the congregation are reflections—often unspoken—of the inner world of its ministers. Whether intentional or unintentional, this transference sets the doctrinal climate of the people.

POINT SECTION I: CLOTHED WITH RIGHTEOUSNESS – NOT PERFORMANCE

In the Hebrew, Psalm 132 uses key words:

“Clothed” (לָבַשׁ labash) – not just external garments, but to be wrapped or covered thoroughly, like one’s identity and aura

“Righteousness” (צְדָקָה tsedaqah) – moral purity, justice, right relationship, and alignment with God’s law

The leader is not instructed to be clothed in:

Eloquence

Public charisma

Theological trivia

Big attendance or platforms

But in righteousness and salvation, which alone produce a true environment where the saints shout for joy.

 

 SECTION II: THE HISTORIC PATTERN OF SPIRITUAL TRANSFERENCE

Throughout the Old and New Testaments, the priestly and prophetic office held weight not just because of words, but because of atmospheric impact:

++ Old Testament Patterns

Leviticus 10 – Nadab and Abihu: Offered strange fire out of order. Their personal disobedience brought judgment and fear to the camp.

1 Samuel 2 – Eli’s Sons (Hophni & Phinehas): Though publicly ministering, their hidden sin corrupted the tone of the worship at the tabernacle and offended God’s presence.

Malachi 2:7–8 – “The priest’s lips should keep knowledge… but you have departed out of the way; you have caused many to stumble at the law.”

The priests’ error caused the people to stumble, not simply due to teaching, but the contaminated spiritual atmosphere it created.

++ New Testament Application

Jesus rebuked the Pharisees (Matthew 23): not because they didn’t know doctrine, but because their private motivations (pride, control, vanity) warped the spirit of their leadership.

Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 5): Their deception brought a fear of the Lord to the whole church, reminding us that the inner world of a leader shapes the collective conscience.

SECTION III: ATMOSPHERIC DOCTRINE — THE UNSEEN TRANSFER

The people often absorb what the leader truly believes by atmosphere, not just sermon notes.

A leader’s fear of man creates a culture of performance

A leader’s secret sin produces a fog of spiritual dullness

A leader’s pursuit of God creates a hunger in the people

A leader’s unhealed trauma can seed a tone of suspicion, control, or emotional instability

A leader’s private devotion quietly births tenderness and reverence

Even unspoken, these things permeate the environment.

“What the priest allows in his home, will echo in the house of God.”

 

SECTION IV: DOCTRINE AS FORMATION, NOT JUST INFORMATION

The Greek word for doctrine in the New Testament is “didachē” – meaning instruction that forms moral character. It is not mere opinion or intellectual theory.

SISTER TAVEAU calls this a person’s moral compass, their business, life, moral, relationship, family, God, ministry big and small “infrastructure” for life, for respect, word of God, making choices, conscience, decisions, moral values, more

++ 1 Timothy 4:16 – “Take heed to yourself, and to the doctrine. Continue in them: for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.”

This tells us:

Sound doctrine must first form the leader

Only then will it form the people

The leader’s lifestyle is itself a doctrine – whether spoken or not

 SECTION V: THE DANGER OF MISALIGNED PRIVATE DOCTRINE

When a leader privately holds warped or compromised doctrine:

Hyper-authoritarianism breeds fear and silence in the people

Grace without holiness creates lukewarmness and moral confusion

Prophetic gifting without sound doctrine creates mysticism and error

Private wounds left unhealed spread anxiety and self-doubt in the saints

And most dangerously—when this becomes normalized, the people cannot discern the difference between the spirit of Christ and the spirit of man.

MASSIVE POINT  SECTION VI: RESTORING THE JOY OF THE SAINTS THROUGH RIGHTEOUSNESS

“Let thy saints shout for joy…”

Why are the saints shouting?

Because the leadership is clothed in righteousness—not manipulation, not performance, not spiritual hierarchy—but humble purity and godly soundness.

This brings:

Safety to the spiritually sensitive

Joy to the hungry

Clarity to the confused

Conviction to the wayward

Worship that pleases the Lord

When the leader walks clean, not perfect but repentant and humble, the people sense the welcome of the Lord’s presence.

BIG POINT:  CONCLUSION: THE PRIESTHOOD OF EVERY BELIEVER, AND THE LEGACY OF ATMOSPHERE

Today, every pastor, apostle, teacher, or leader is a carrier of spiritual climate.

They will either:

Multiply righteousness

Or perpetuate confusion, dysfunction, and hardness

As leaders, we must examine:

Is my private theology in line with Christ?

Is my household tone reflected in my church?

Am I forming a people ready to stand alone before God, or dependent on me?

The Psalmist reminds us: “I will clothe her priests with salvation…”
This is God’s doing. But we must yield.
Because the joy of the people and the purity of the Name of Jesus are at stake.

May we be clothed in righteousness—not image.
May our doctrine build moral scaffolding—not applause.
And may the saints shout again with pure, undefiled joy.

MAIN POINT: MEANING OF “STRANGE CHILDREN”

** Hebrew Root:

• Strange children = בְּנֵי נֵכָר (bnei nekar)

  • “Bnei” = sons or children

  • “Nekar” = foreign, alien, outside the covenant

  • Carries the implication of those not of God’s spirit, even if they look familiar or appear religious

✨ In deeper context, “strange children” refers to:

• Spiritual imposters: Those who do not walk in covenant truth

• Double-speaking leaders or influencers: Their right hand (a symbol of trust or authority) is full of falsehood

• Toxic influences: People raised or trained under false doctrine, unbiblical traditions, or counterfeit spiritual cultures

 NOTE: WHY KING DAVID PRAYS FOR DELIVERANCE

David, as a leader, is crying out for:

• Discernment: To recognize impure, deceptive, or manipulative people in the nation

• Protection: From cultural corruption, false alliances, and polluted counsel

• Cleansing of the atmosphere: So his people (and future generations) are raised in integrity, covenant truth, and true worship

POINT: RELEVANCE FOR TODAY

+  SPIRITUAL INSIGHT:

“Strange children” can symbolize:

• False converts: those who say “Lord, Lord” but do not know Him (Matt. 7:21-23)

• Doctrinally twisted influencers: who use media, trend, or celebrity to form hybrid or distorted Christianity

• Religious imitators: who appear holy but introduce spiritual error or manipulation

• (Dysfunctional Christ adults, even sr leaders, well known and not) who were children raised in confusion: by mixed teachings, absent fathers, trauma, or no spiritual safety, prayer or healthy doctrine and hero role modeling:

“The Gossip Driven Leadership”

 VOICE: LEADERS & PARENTS: BEWARE

++ In churches:

• False worship or performance-driven gatherings can reproduce strange spiritual offspring

• Celebrity-driven “winds of doctrine” (Eph. 4:14) create generations confused in identity and doctrine

• Children are spiritually formed by tone, truth, example, and consistency

• When exposed to mixture, inconsistency, or emotional neglect, they become vulnerable to deception

GOD…PRAYERFUL RESPONSE

Lord, rid us from strange children. Cleanse our atmosphere, homes, churches, and communities.

Note how it warns “Keep your children away from these” and “you will not prosper when authority submitted to all of these” (my submitted non witchwatcher opinion!)

• People raised in churches but discipled by TikTok, YouTube prophets, or spiritual bullies

Literal: They speak empty, useless, deceptive things.
