Understanding the Subculture Inside the Chur<\/span>ch<\/span><\/h2>\n

It\u2019s tempting to view the turmoil, selfishness, and confusion Paul describes as a symptom of \u201cthe world out there.\u201d Yet, these dangers are not confined to secular society alone\u2014they have firmly planted themselves within the Church. This troubling subculture exists among ministers, elders, pastors, staff, and even within the congregation\u2019s lay members.<\/span><\/p>\n

At its core, this subculture is marked by:<\/span><\/p>\n

Corrupt disputing and divisive arguments that serve selfish agendas instead of edifying the Body.<\/span><\/p>\n

False notions of godliness, where external appearance or titles mask a denial of true spiritual power.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pride, arrogance, and love of self that erode humility and servant-hearted leadership.<\/span><\/p>\n

Spiritual manipulation and control tactics that break the unity of the Spirit and cause hurt instead of healing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Such behaviors do not reflect the gentleness, patience, and meekness Paul commands for the Lord\u2019s servants. Instead, they echo the perilous times warned about\u2014where love grows cold and self-interest reigns.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is why Paul instructs believers to withdraw<\/strong> from corrupt disputes and to be patient and gentle when teaching those who oppose themselves, praying God grants them repentance and restoration.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Call Back to Biblical Ministry<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Church was never meant to mirror<\/strong> the world\u2019s pride or politics. It was designed as a sanctuary of truth, love, and spiritual growth. Ministry leaders are called to serve, not to dominate. They must teach with patience, correct in meekness, and seek the restoration of the lost\u2014not to control or accuse without love.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recognizing and confronting this internal subculture is essential for the Church\u2019s health and witness. It challenges all of us to:<\/span><\/p>\n

Examine the fruit in each of “ourselves”<\/strong>\u00a0 and in our “leaders.<\/strong>” and in the rising bumper crop of “devout true followers!”<\/span><\/p>\n

Reject the counterfeit forms of godliness that deny power.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pursue a culture of humility, truth, and servant leadership.<\/span><\/p>\n

The battle is not just \u201cout there\u201d \u2014 it is right here, among us. But with God\u2019s help, repentance and renewal are possible.<\/span>
\nClosing Thought<\/span><\/p>\n

Paul\u2019s words remain urgently relevant:<\/span><\/h3>\n

\u201cThe servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient…\u201d (2 Timothy 2:24)<\/span><\/p>\n

May we embrace this model fully and seek to build a Church that reflects Christ \u2014 genuine, humble, and filled with the power of God.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pastor Taveau D\u2019Arcy\u2019s life and calling reflect a long, faithful walk with the Lord\u2014spanning generations, denominations, and decades of ministry insight. Raised by senior parents and godly grandparents from both sides\u2014each deeply rooted in the Bible and led by the Holy Spirit\u2014Taveau was shaped early on by Christian examples from Baptist, Presbyterian, and Methodist<\/strong> traditions.   • At just nine years old<\/strong>, Taveau gave her heart to Jesus during her father\u2019s summer revival. At twelve<\/strong>, while listening to Billy Graham preach on her grandmother\u2019s TV from the other room, she rededicated her life. By sixteen<\/strong>, she was a passionate, on-fire follower of Christ\u2014living simply like a \u201cJesus People\u201d teen, dressing down and pressing into authentic faith.<\/li>\n
  • While a freshman in college, she made a decision that changed her life: to experiment with what would happen if she followed the Lord\u2019s leading 24\/7, 365 days a year<\/strong>. She has continued that experiment ever since. During this season, while living off campus, she also received the baptism of the Holy Spirit<\/strong>, igniting a deeper level of insight and direction from the Lord.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    1987 Called to Public Ministry: The Encouraging Word<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

    In Central Virginia, Pastor Taveau was led to birth The Encouraging Word Ministries<\/strong>. During that time, she:<\/p>\n

      Hosted her own area-wide prayer meetings<\/strong>, specifically to intercede for pastors, leaders, their families, and revival<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

That chapter deeply shaped her compassion and discernment, especially toward overlooked or struggling people in the Church.<\/p>\n

      Commissioned by the Lord in 1976<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

      At age 24<\/strong>, in 1976<\/strong>, the Lord gave Pastor Taveau a clear commission: to study the leadership doctrines<\/strong> within the Body of Christ. This assignment came long before the rise of modern Christian celebrity culture, mega-conferences, or media commercialization. She has since studied the Church across genders, races, worship styles, and denominations<\/strong>\u2014including both charismatic and traditional streams.<\/p>\n

      A Word the Lord Gave Me About Repeated Hurt and Spiritual Warning<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

      50 years in 2026!<\/strong><\/p>\n

      In the course of my journey\u2014<\/strong>attending ministries, traveling conferences, studying leadership across many styles and movements\u2014I began to experience certain painful dynamics over and over again. Things like public accusation, tale-bearing, suspicion without cause, and strange \u201cspiritual turf-guarding.\u201d<\/p>\n

      After encountering this not once, but multiple times<\/strong> across different regions and ministries, I brought my heart before the Lord.<\/p>\n

      It was then that He impressed this deeply personal, prophetic instruction into my spirit:<\/p>\n

      \u201cIf I allow you to stumble upone\u00a0 something in a Christian fellowship or ministry three times or more, in different places\u2014something that hurts people or tarnishes My name\u2014then that is a sign to you. I see a lot more of that than you know, and I am allowing you to see<\/em> it so you will teach<\/em> on it.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      And He added:<\/p>\n

      \u201cIf you get hurt, take it prophetically<\/em>, not personally. I am letting you feel the weight of it so you can understand how deeply it wounds My people\u2014and then you will help them slowly heal from it.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

      That changed everything.<\/p>\n

      It shifted me from being merely \u201coffended\u201d or \u201cwounded\u201d to understanding that the Lord was entrusting me with insight\u2014not just into problems, but into redemptive solutions<\/strong>. And it confirmed my lifelong calling: to build bridges of understanding among His people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
